The different types of stomach ache
Constipation, diarrhea, gastroesophageal reflux ... The pains associated with the abdominal area of   the body, located between the thorax and the pelvis, are as varied as the organs it closes. The point on the different types of stomach pains that we are almost all led to feel one day.

Belly, a complex anatomical region
The abdominal cavity is composed of different organs including:

the stomach
the intestines ;
liver ;
kidneys ;
the spleen;
the pancreas.
Therefore, the pains felt in this area of   the body may be different, both in terms of location, duration or feeling. They are also sometimes accompanied by side symptoms, such as fever, for example.

Depending on the condition, different treatments may be prescribed as anti-pain, anti-inflammatory or anti-spasmodic. The surgical operation is considered in some cases. Natural remedies like homeopathy or herbal medicine have been proven.

Frequently felt after a meal too rich, for example, gastroesophageal reflux is explained by the rise of hydrochloric acid in the stomach to the wall of the esophagus. The latter is not protected - unlike the stomach - to support this acidity, sharp pain type burn are felt behind the sternum.

The treatments consist of relieving the pain. They are mainly medicated:

Antacids and alginates neutralize acidity but do not affect lesions;

Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are used as background therapy (to treat the cause) in patients with chronic GERD. However, they have no effect on the extra-digestive symptoms (ENT symptoms, chronic cough, asthma ..).

Laparoscopic surgery (operation without opening the abdomen) may also be considered to prevent complications and recurrence of GERD. Many techniques are currently being validated: radiofrequency, injections in the lower esophageal sphincter, partial suturing of the lower esophagus ...

Pains of the small intestine





These are the most frequently felt. They come in the form of painful spasms or gas, which are created after a poorly digested meal or more chronically. They can be accompanied by diarrhea, fever, fatigue .. Pathologies such as Crohn 's disease or ulcerative colitis may be responsible for pain in the small intestine. They are often grouped under the name of IBD (inflammatory bowel diseases).

There are several treatments to relieve pain. First, a change in diet can be beneficial. Do not hesitate to consult a dietician or a nutritionist doctor who can help to set up a personalized nutritional plan.

Anti-inflammatories or analgesics may be prescribed to relieve pain. Acetaminophen (Tylenol®) is better than nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen or aspirin. Antidiarrheal medications also play an important role.

Bowel pain





Also called large bowel, the colon can also cause discomfort and discomfort, especially in cases of functional colopathy. Also known as irritable bowel syndrome, this pathology generates pain, constipation and diarrhea. If pain is concentrated in the lower right abdomen area and is associated with fever, appendicitis should be suspected.

The antispasmodics of the spasfon or metospasmyl type as a background treatment or in case of a crisis relieve. A diet can help in some cases, especially in cases of functional colopathy. The Fodmap diet (excluding a family of little digestible sugars such as pears, apples, plums, wheat, barley ..) is today one of the only scientifically validated food strategies. Side natural treatment, the essential oil of peppermint can be effective.
